Site built with LyamFlow

A made-up example, in the colours of the Lastra template.

How people choose a garage today

By proximity and trust, but trust starts online. Someone searching “garage Bellinzona”, “tyre change open Saturday” or “Volkswagen service Lugano” wants to know whether you work on their car, what a typical job costs and whether they can drop the car off tomorrow. A site that says so plainly gets the call.

The tyre change is the perfect example: twice a year, thousands of people search for the same thing at the same moment. The garage that has put the price of the change, tyre storage and how to book on its website fills its diary before the others.

The rest counts too: a courtesy car, collection and delivery, a check before the vehicle inspection, a bodywork quote from a photo. These are the services that make people choose an independent garage over the dealership.

What to put on a garage’s website

The site comes with the words of the trade — services, price list, appointments — and with the phone number always within thumb’s reach.

  • Services Servicing, brakes, clutch, air conditioning, diagnostics, tyres, bodywork. One line each, with a “from” price where you can.
  • Makes and vehicles The makes you work on most, electric and hybrid cars if you service them, vans and motorbikes. Anyone looking for their make has to find it written down.
  • Tyres and storage Seasonal change, storage, wheel balancing, with the price. It’s the section that works hardest twice a year.
  • Vehicle inspection The check before the test, and whether you take the car to the test yourselves.
  • Extra services Courtesy car, collection and return, car wash. They’re the reasons to choose you.
  • Book an appointment The button that closes the page: a call or WhatsApp, where the customer sends you a photo of the warning light or the damage.

Three templates for garages and mechanics

All twenty-eight templates are available, and none costs more. These three are the most natural starting points: you can switch template later without losing your text.

  • Lastra Glass, metal and raking light around a single object: it’s designed with the motor trade in mind.
  • Attivo Direct and commercial, sharp edges and a single red: it’s clear in a second what you do.
  • Orbita Graphite and platinum, one object at the centre and everything else orbiting it: for the garage that handles sports or electric cars.

The searches that come twice a year, and the everyday ones

The site’s title already starts from the name, category and town. The rest is done by your customers’ words: the makes, the services, “tyre change”, “diagnostics”, “bodywork”. The more of them are written down, the more searches you reach.

Before October and before March:

  • update the price of the tyre change and storage, and say how to book an appointment;
  • link the site to the garage’s Google Business Profile, with opening hours and photos of the entrance;
  • ask happy customers for a review when you hand the car back, while they still have the keys in their hand.

Vehicles, jobs and invoices in the management software

The site on its own is free. LyamFlow’s management software for job-based businesses has a record for every vehicle — number plate, make, model, mileage, next service — as well as customers, jobs, calendar, price list and takings.

Invoices come out as PDFs with the Swiss QR-bill and go out by email. A fourteen-day trial, then the Basic plan.

How it works, trade by trade: management software for your business.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put up a price list for servicing?

Yes, with the exact price or with a “from”. An indicative price is often the reason a new customer calls you rather than the dealership.

Can customers book their tyre change from the site?

The button brings in the contact with one tap — call, WhatsApp or email — and you set the appointment. In the management software, you put it in the calendar.

Does it also work for tyre shops, body shops and auto electricians?

Yes: when you sign up you choose “Workshop and cars”, and the site comes with the right words. Your speciality goes in the name and the text.

I only have a few photos of the garage. Is that OK?

Yes: the site comes with photos of the trade already in place, and you change them whenever you like. A real photo of your entrance is the first one to add.

How much does it cost?

The site: nothing, forever. Your own domain: CHF 9 a month plus registration. The management software with vehicles and invoices: CHF 29.90 a month after the trial.
